Mark Engineering Unveils $129 AI Bookmark

Mark Engineering

Startup Mark Engineering has introduced the Mark 1, an AI-powered bookmark that tracks reading progress, highlights key passages, and generates summaries. Inspired by Bauhaus design, the sleek metallic device pairs with an app for a seamless reading experience.

Mark 1 joins the growing wave of AI-driven gadgets, offering insights into reading habits and “intelligent summaries.” A promo video shows users marking their spot with a rotary knob, syncing data to a paired device. While hardware details are limited, the Mark 1 aims to redefine how readers interact with books in the AI era.

SEC Agrees to Drop Lawsuit Against Cumberland DRW

DRW

The SEC is set to dismiss its case against crypto trading firm Cumberland DRW, the company announced on March 4. The filing, agreed upon in principle on Feb. 20, now awaits final approval. This follows the SEC dropping cases against Coinbase, Kraken, and Consensys, as well as investigations into Yuga Labs and OpenSea.

Filed in October, the lawsuit accused Cumberland of operating as an unregistered securities dealer for over $2 billion in crypto assets since 2018. The SEC alleged the firm traded five tokens—Polygon, Solana, Cosmos, Algorand, and Filecoin—as securities without proper registration.

Iconic Gaming Publisher Acclaim Makes Its Return

Acclaim

Acclaim, once a major name in gaming, went bankrupt in 2004 and sold off its assets. Now, over two decades later, a group of industry veterans has revived the brand with a focus on supporting indie developers. The company will assist with funding, marketing, and PR, providing much-needed support in today’s tougher funding environment.

Acclaim also plans to breathe new life into its iconic gaming franchises. Known for publishing hits like NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat, and Burnout, the company aims to revive its classic IPs. CEO Alex Josef teased new indie game signings and hinted at exciting announcements to come, with hopes for a modern NBA Jam.

Apple Debuts All-New iPad Air With M3 Chip

Apple

Apple is updating the iPad Air with the M3 chip, less than a year after the last refresh. It still comes in 11- and 13-inch sizes, starting at $599 and $799, and works with a redesigned Magic Keyboard. Most specs remain the same—60Hz display, Touch ID, and 128GB base storage. The M3 upgrade won’t make a big difference for most users but helps Apple phase out the M2.

The new Magic Keyboard is now cheaper at $269 and $319, thinner, and adds a function key row. Pre-orders are open, with shipping on March 12. Colors remain space gray, starlight, purple, and blue.

SOFTWARE
Android 15 Update Brings New AI and Privacy Features

Google

Google has unveiled four new Android 15 features, starting with AI-powered Scam Detection in Google Messages. It spots suspicious writing patterns in real time, letting users block or report scams while running locally for privacy. Find My Device now includes live location sharing, making it easier to track friends or loved ones in real time.

Android Auto is adding games like Candy Crush Soda Saga and Angry Birds 2, playable while parked. Meanwhile, Chrome will now track product prices and send sale alerts, helping users find the best deals. These updates enhance security, connectivity, and convenience across Android devices.
